Union Bank of India’s Ratings Affirmed with a Stable Outlook

Overview

Capital Intelligence Ratings (CI Ratings or CI), the international credit rating agency, today announced that it has affirmed the Financial Strength Rating (FSR) of Union Bank of India (UBI) at   'BB-'. The rating is constrained by the Bank's high level of non-performing loans (NPLs), low loan-loss reserve (LLR) coverage ratio and weak capital buffers, a severely impaired capital base, low earnings and ongoing credit risks in certain sectors to which the Bank has exposures.
